Kim

Picking out your outfit in the morning takes time. Kim is an app that streamlines the process of planning what to wear and transforms what used to be a chore into something more enjoyable. Features: adding items, finding/removing your outfit and e-commerce integration.

The Problem

The Problem

Create an app that streamlines the process of planning what to wear and transforms what used to be a chore into something more enjoyable.

Objectives

- create a new digital product from scratch
- encourage interaction
- increase subscriptions

Restrictions

- remotely UX Team
- remotely Development Team
- increase conversions through ADV and e-commerce

The Process

As the lead UI designer on this project, I worked with the product owner, engineer, and Lead UX designer. The entire product was in Agile methodology (sprint and cyclical review).

Customer User Map

Customer User Map

“The finest clothing made is a person's own skin, but, of course, society demands something more than this.”

Mark Twain

You’re already running late, and you have absolutely no ideas about what you should wear. Kim is a mobile application that tries to simplify this scenario, especially during the morning, reducing frustration (this is a short diagram of our User’s Journey).

Proto-Personas

Proto-Personas

Lorenzo is a Senior Manager at Barilla Digital, Milano (35 years old).

He has a girlfriend and loves hi-tech, sport and music.

He has iPhone 8 and Android, and Windows PC.

Lorenzo appreciates several websites like Amazon, Zalando, Yoox, Asos, Spotify, and Corriere Della Sera.

After a long brainstorming (to identify goals, problems, and challenge) we designed a simple proto-personas, an archetype reflecting our user. Sadly we hadn’t enough time to create an entire personas from UX Research.

Wireflows

Wireflows

I worked closely with a UX Team to define the structure and all information architecture about our digital product. So, we designed an entire Wireflow, a combination of wireframes and flowcharts.

Design research

Design research

The challenge was to create a new brand. I split my assignments among Moodboard, Competitor Review, Benchmark, and Diagrams to understand what was the best direction in terms of UI, branding, and Design.

Styleguide

Styleguide

I designed the fundamental components, defining: color, typography, button, icons, card. The original idea was to create an entire system, working directly with e Front End Team.

UI Design

UI Design

I tried to duplicate a “clean approach” concerning the relationship between space and typography.

Also, I reduced some functionality, building a simple, clear structure for our users.

E-commerce

E-commerce

Close integration between an e-commerce platform and several brands like Hogan, Gucci, Dolce and Prada.

Microinteractions

Microinteractions

I provided an entire microinteraction library. From my side, I tried to reproduce all aspects of a good design process: trigger, rules, feedback, loop & mood.
